Originally from Chicago, the Leslie Maclean Trio appeared at many of that city's top jazz clubs including Orphan's on Lincoln Avenue, The Bulls on Lincoln Park West, and The Back Room on Rush Street. The group is now based in St. Louis where it continues to perform unique, exciting and passionate renditions of jazz favorites as well as Leslie's original compositions. The Trio appears regularly at the Ritz-Carlton, JaBoni's, Bar Napoli, Balaban's, Genesis House and other jazz venues in the St. Louis area. No stranger to radio and TV media in St. Louis, the group has appeared on Ross Gentile's 'Standards in Jazz' radio show on WSIE, Don Wolfe's Saturday night Jazz Show on KMOX, and the Morning Show on FOX 2 TV.
Appearing with Leslie Maclean and Jerry Pollock (LMT percussionist and business manager) are some of St. Louis' finest bassists, including local and national icon Tom Kennedy, DJ Monzyk, Ben Wheeler, Noah Wheeler, Willem von Hombracht, Chris Turnbaugh and Doug Yarwood. Entertaining as well as musically accomplished, the Trio is especially effective in a concert setting. In addition, the group excels at creating an elegant and stylish ambiance for private parties and other occasions.
