Biography: The Laclede Quartet was founded in 1978 and has performed extensively in the Midwest. Its members served as Artists in Residence at The History Museum in St. Louis, MO. There they presented classical concerts that augmented The History Museum's exhibits 1990-1998. In the Fall of 1997 the Laclede Quartet began a concert series at the St. Louis Art Museum. They have been featured guests on KMOX, KFUO-FM's chamber music series From the Garden Live, KSD, and KWMU radio. The violinists of the group were presented Outstanding Artist/Teacher Award 1996-97 by the American String Teachers Association. Their four recordings have been featured on KFUO-FM Classic 99 and have been in the Top 10 local (St. Louis) classical since their release. LQ's recordings can be ordered from Streetside Records, Borders Books & Music, Webster Records, Sam Goody, and Blue Sky Distributors. Performances have been aired on cable TV and the quartet has been featured on St. Louis PBS Channel 9's ETC. They have been televised on KSDK, KMOV, KTVI, KPLR, and FOX2 with feature stories on their Historical Concerts and Kidz Konzerts. LQ's recordings have been used at US Foreign Embassy dinners and at The White House. December 2001 marks the Laclede Quartet's 23rd Season. Partial Song List:
