Biography: HUDSON AND THE HOO DOO CATS, a JumpSwinginRockinBoogieBluesaBilly quartet based in St.Louis, Missouri, is one of the most entertaining and experienced group of musicians to be found. Hudson Harkins, an Austin, Texas native of 39 years, has led his band in over 2000 performances during the past ten years. These include club dates, festivals, corporate events, weddings and private parties. The band's professionalism is reflected in their ability to adapt to any performing environment. Frequent touring has taken the band nation-wide. The band features vocalist, drummer and songwriter Harkins, ace guitarist John Logan, and the exciting slap bass of Belleville, Illinois native Mike Graham. HUDSON AND THE HOO DOO CATS focus on swingin' jump blues from the Forties, rockabilly from the Fifties, and Harkins' originals. His humorous, to-the-point anthems have been strongly influenced by Austin's eclectic music scene and St. Louis' historical blues and roots traditions. A natural entertainer, Harkins fronts the band center-stage as lead singer and drummer. Playing an orange and gold Guild Manhattan Archtop or a Fender electric, John Logan's diverse guitar styles have established him as one of the finest players around. His own Austin band (Logan and the Lix) regularly opened for national acts that played Antone's nightclub. A top radio personality in the 1980's, Logan also hosted live remote radio shows from that legendary club. Graham, a mainstay in the St. Louis blues and soul scene for 15 years, plays a rare '40's aluminum upright bass which has to be seen to be believed, and is destined to be known as the slappinest rockabilly bass player around.
