Biography: On stage, The Hot House Sessions are developing a sound that's all their own. DJ Alexis commands the dance floor with her driving house rhythms, bringing together dub, latin, funk, and soul. Her ability to control the tables while mixing into a 4 piece band, all the while supporting the band with great auxillary percussion riffs, has proven this divas' got the full package! Partner in crime, percussionist Chris Hansen has reinvented the role of a percussionist and brought a new swing to house music with his melodic approach to the congas. Weaving a seamless fabric of old and new world rhythms, Chris' performances are always an experience. The Hot House Sessions Brass Section boasts some of St. Louis' Finest from the original HHS one man horn section, Mr. La'Mar Harris on Tuba, Trombone and Slide Trumpet, to the ingenious Lew Winer on sax and flute. Their instinctual ability to adapt to the ever changing set, melding keys and rhythms, has made them the ideal cast for this scene. Cool handed Tom "Papa" Ray, the soul selector himself, legitimizes the group with his deep down electric harmonica and dancehall style vocals. You can feel the heart of a St. Louis blues man and the fire of a roots rocker in every breath he takes. Tradition meets spontaneity; intellect vs. instinct, the heart and soul improvisational styles of vibraphonist Jeff Lash makes this a true audio experience. His interpretive approach to each track and grasp on every movement of the music makes Jeff one of kind. The Hot House Sessions are the premier live experience! In the Studio, The Hot House Sessions are applying their same principles in the fusion of style and tone, making underground music that's ready to take to the masses.
